The personality of Adam Grigoryevich Kisel (dates of life: the end of 1599 / early 1600 – May 3, 1653) the governors of Kyiv, the Senator of the Commonwealth – bright and ambiguous. Having reached a high official and social situation, which became one of the richest landowners of the Ukrainian hetman, he at the same time established himself in the face of the Cossacks and farmers with a hot jealousy and defender of the Orthodox believers in the Commonwealth, who firmly defended their interests in the face of the authorities. He erected a number of churches and monasteries. He contributed to the creation and strengthening of religious educational institutions and centers.
The basis of the book is the works of researchers and scientists of various times about the life and activities of Adam Kisel, allowing to more thoroughly judge his personal contribution to the state, social and religious life of his time.
