Book of thousands and one night: chosen fairy tales

Stories included in the “Book of Thousands and One Nights” and dating back to the Arabic, Iranian and Indian folklore are very heterogeneous in style and content. This is a kaleidoscope of events and images of the long-past era with a variegated color of morals and life of various social layers during the Baghdad ruler Harun Ar-Rashid. The connecting link in all fairy tales is the wise and well -read daughter of the vizier of Scheheerezad. Fleeing from the reprisal of Shakhriyra, after the betrayal of his wife, who was giving up at all women, Sheheerezada distracts the tyrant from gloomy thoughts with his stories, interrupting his story in the most interesting place and inciting his curiosity …
