Butterflies and “barrels”: Irina Lykova

Preparation for the letter begins long before all the props and involves the overall development of the child’s hand, as well as good coordination in the “eye-hand” system. These basic skills and abilities develop not only and not so much in special exercises as in the most ordinary children’s games and classes. The shortest way to study can only be beaten through the game and a keen interest. That is why the first prescriptions for preschool children are not strict lines with elements of letters, but rather lively and free pictures with fish and shells, birds and leaves, butterflies and flowers. The child draws such pictures with a support for the plot created in the book by the artist. He acts as a kind and skilled wizard who helps everyone: the bird gives feathers, the fish – scales, the wings of butterflies decorates with patterns, color the petals of flowers. This develops a hand, eye, attention, teaches to navigate a sheet of paper.
